Visiting Pilots & PPR (EGMG)
Gransden Lodge Airfield welcomes visiting sailplane pilots, reciprocal gliding members, and cross-country retrieves. Powered aircraft arrivals are strictly subject to mandatory Prior Permission Required (PPR).
Visiting Glider Pilots
Gliders flying in or arriving by road with trailers are warmly welcomed. We offer reciprocal flying agreements with BGA-affiliated clubs.
- Radio Frequency: Airfield Radio on 130.130 MHz (AirBand / Club Channel).
- Runways: 04/22, 10/28.
- Signing On: Visiting P1 pilots must present a valid medical declaration and gliding licence before launching.
- Daily Briefing: Check in at the clubhouse briefing desk on mornings before launching.
PPR for Powered Aircraft & TMGs
Under local planning covenants, powered aircraft movements must be strictly gliding-related and require prior written or telephone approval.
- Mandatory PPR: PPR must be obtained in advance from the CFI or Duty Pilot.

- Joining Procedures: Standard overhead join at 1,500 ft QFE to inspect winch cables and active launch strip before descending deadside.
- FLARM / Transponders: Aircraft should operate FLARM and transponders where fitted.
